What a hard winter this has been on all of us. A severe snowstorm in December, record breaking low temperatures in January and February; and flooding situations in March. In April OPEC decided to cut oil production by a million barrels per day, which doesn't immediately affect us, but may, come next heating season.
I loved the new oil heat commercials this winter. It was nice to see and hear the oil industry promoting itself for a change. We actually had our first gas to oil conversion this past fall since I've been here. People are starting to realize that free equipment is not free because the price of the gas covers any expense of the equipment.
Oil prices, however have remained relatively stable over the past few months, but I wouldn't expect any major decreases over the summer. Budget plans are still a good way to spread out the cost of heating your home over a ten or twelve month period. Please call me, if you think this method of payment is right for you. Budgets start in September.
On a personal note, my daughter Hannah will be completing kindergarten soon, Adam will be turning four this August, and my husband Jeff is already asking me when I will be working half days. (Jeff is a stay at home dad.) So starting June 14th I will be switching to my summer hours.
FYI: We do not do any telemarketing to encourage business. We have tried various marketing strategies such as: Coupons, Welcome Wagon, and even the radio. However, our best marketing strategy is YOU. Word of mouth has been our biggest and best seller. So save money on your fuel bill! Recommend us to a friend or neighbor, and we will automatically credit your account $20.00, if they become an automatic customer.
Last but certainly not least, Dad has
officially/unofficially retired as of April 1st. I will miss seeing his face at
work every day, but it will be nice for him to spend more time playing golf and
taking some time to travel with my sisters. They're heading to
